  • 1967 Refugee Convention Protocol:
    • It expanded the geographic and temporal scope of refugee assistance
  • It defines as ‘refugee’ as outlines the rights of the displaced.

  • UNHCR has won two Nobel Peace Prizes, in 1954 and 1981.
