Swadesh Darshan

  • To position tourism as a major engine of economic growth.
  • Community-based development and pro-poor tourism approach
  • It is a central sector scheme
  • To develop public facilities like last mile connectivity, Way side Amenities, Solid Waste Management, Illumination, parking etc. where Private Sector is not willing to invest.
  • Convergence with other schemes of Central and State Governments
  • To leverage voluntary funding available for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
  • Fifteen thematic circuits have been identified
    • North-East India Circuit, Buddhist Circuit, Himalayan Circuit, Coastal Circuit, Krishna Circuit, Desert Circuit, Tribal Circuit, Eco Circuit, Wildlife Circuit, Rural Circuit, Spiritual Circuit, Ramayana Circuit, Heritage Circuit, Sufi Circuit and Tirthankar Circuit.
  • Tourist Circuit: It is defined as a route having at least three major tourist destinations.
  • Recently, First Tribal Circuit Project was inaugurated in Chhattisgarh.

 

 

Prasad Scheme

Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive

  • Harness pilgrimage tourism for its multiplier effect for employment.
  • Promote local art, culture, handicraft, cuisine, etc.
  • Central Government will provide 100% fund.
  • Efforts to involve PPP and CSR as well.
  • Infrastructure development such as entry points (road, rail and water transport), last mile connectivity, basic tourism facilities like Information/ Interpretation Centers, ATM, eco- friendly transport etc.

 

Adopt A Heritage / Apni Dharohar Apni Pehchan

  • Ministry of Tourism + Ministry of Culture + Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)
  • To involve public sector companies, private sector companies and corporate citizens/individuals
  • The legal status does not change after adoption.
  • No handing over of monuments.
  • Companies to be ‘Monument Mitra’ (CSR activities)
  • The Project envisages limited ‘access’ to non-core areas
  • No fund by Ministry of Tourism.
  • To develop basic tourism infrastructure in and around heritage monuments
  • Active involvement of local communities.
  • Harness tourism potential for its multiplier effects.
  • Develop sustainable tourism infrastructure.

  • Dekho Apna Desh: To encourage Indians to visit their own country.
  • Tourism & Governance: Skill Development in Tourism Sector, Innovation in Tourism, Developing Rural Tourism near established destinations.
  • Tourism for All: To promote tourism events at sites across all States in country. People’s events with large scale public participation. Dance, Music, Theatre, Exhibitions etc.
  • India Tourism Mart: platform to conduct business.

Marketing initiative, aiming to promote India’s image as a high-end tourist destination.

Incredible India 2.0

  • Doubling tourism traffic from both foreign and domestic tourists.
  • Shift from generic promotions to market specific promotional plans
  • Greater focus on digital presence.
  • Campaign is released in prime existing markets as well as important potential markets.
  • Niche tourism products are promoted: e.g. Heritage Tourism, Adventure Tourism, Cruise Tourism, Rural Tourism, Wellness & Medical Tourism, MICE, Golf, etc.

  • To have friendly relations with International Visitors
